For those of you uninterested in your typical Bachelor/ Bachelorette party, there are numerous things you can do instead. Although traditionally held for the bridesmaid as a bridesmaid luncheon, plan a "thank you" event for your entire bridal party. Remember to incorporate the theme of your wedding into this event as well. For example, if you are getting married on a beach you can host a casual barbeque luncheon and invite both sides of the bridal party. Plan a fun activity like beach volleyball or a fun (but competitive) sandcastle building contest- the groosmen against bridesmaids! This allows each member to get to know one another before the big day, especially considering most are childhood friends and those that mean the most to the bride and groom. It's a perfect setting for introductions and a great way to relax together. This is also a prime time to give each member of your bridal party their wedding gift.
Hosting this event a month or so before the big day is the norm, but if there are out-of-town guests that have to fly in, 2 or 3 days prior to the wedding is just fine. This can be seperate from the rehearsal dinner or you can combine the two. Either way, pour me a big glass of wine!
